National Newsmakers Drop In For a Visit; OCPA Continues Statewide Tour
November 01, 2006
You never know who you might see at the OCPA headquarters. Recently President George W. Bush's senior adviser, Karl Rove, stopped by for a visit. He spent the afternoon at our offices and upon departing called our headquarters "absolutely beautiful." Thanks, Karl!
In addition, former OCPA trustee and current U.S. Senator Tom Coburn participated in an OCPA press conference introducing our 2006 Oklahoma Piglet Book. The book, published in conjunction with Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW), has received much attention and includes our call for a state website to provide citizens with instant access to how their tax dollars are spent by government (see pg. 1).
OCPA development director Margaret Ann Hoenig and marketing director Brian Hobbs held an "Issues and Ideas Forum" in Ardmore. OCPA trustee John Snodgrass was present, as was Noble Foundation president Michael Cawley and about two dozen of our closest friends and supporters in the area.
There is just no telling what will be happening
at OCPA next month, but one thing is certain: with your help our
work will continue to be significant and important. Stay tuned!
