Dr. Fears to discuss ‘can-do leadership’

March 19, 2012

In an April 13 lecture in Oklahoma City, the renowned historian of liberty J. Rufus Fears will discuss “Can-Do Leadership: What America Needs Today.”

Dr. Fears, a University of Oklahoma professor who also serves as the Dr. David and Ann Brown Distinguished Fellow for Freedom Enhancement at OCPA, believes America is in crisis: economic, political, and foreign policy. Those of you who have taken his courses or purchased his lectures know that Americans have overcome crises equally daunting. In this lecture, Dr. Fears will explore the lessons of leadership from the past to find solutions for our own day.

The event, which is being hosted by the Oklahoma United Methodist Foundation, will be held at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City on Friday, April 13. Doors open at noon, and the lecture begins at 12:30. The lecture is open to the public and admission is free. (Parking is available at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 222 NW 15th Street, with shuttle service to the event provided.)
