Dangerous distractions

If we truly care about helping the most vulnerable and empowering Oklahomans, then a focus on what’s productive is crucial.

According to data from the Oklahoma State Department of Education, approximately 25 percent of Oklahoma City Public Schools students are African-American and 54 percent are Hispanic. According to the SDE, 37 percent of southwest OKCPS third-graders and 62 percent of northeast OKCPS third-graders failed their state reading test.
