Though the federal minimum wage is just $7.25 an hour, The Oklahoman reports today that Oklahoma City-based retailer Hobby Lobby "increased its minimum wage to $11 an hour for full-time employees; the company also increased the minimum wage for part-time workers to $8 an hour. The raises affect more than 9,600 employees. ...

"Oklahoma Labor Commissioner Lloyd Fields said Hobby Lobby's minimum wage is practically unheard of -- and is on track with the national standard of what is considered a 'livable wage.'"

"We want to continue to reward our employees for their hard work and share with them the success of our company," said Hobby Lobby CEO David Green, a devout Christian. "There are a lot of employees out there who really, really need it."
