OCPA statement on legislative efforts to increase accountability

After Oklahoma House and Senate committees advanced bills to give the governor more power over agencies, Jonathan Small, president of the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs (OCPA), released the following statement:

“It’s great news that state Senate and House committees advanced legislation today to give our state’s chief executive the power to do his job.

“When voters elect a governor, they expect that person to have the necessary authority to oversee the executive branch of state government. The reforms advanced today will do just that and should make state government more efficient and accountable.”
