PASS SCHOOL CHOICE THAT’S FAIR TO HOMESCHOOL FAMILIES
Lawmakers at the Oklahoma Capitol are working to pass legislation to empower parents with REAL school choice for their children. Homeschool students should not be left out.
Either House Bill 1934 or House Bill 1935 would, if signed into law, provide a tax credit per student for families who choose to send their children to private school, for tuition and fees.
Earlier versions of the bills largely excluded homeschool families. But the most recent versions of both HB 1934 and HB 1935 would provide a tax credit of $1,000 per student for educational expenses for families who homeschool!
Encourage your state senator and state representative to send to Gov. Stitt’s desk a version of either HB 1934 or HB 1935 that allows homeschool students to fully participate on a per-student basis.
You can note some of the following points:
-Because education is part of raising children, educational choice is fundamental to parental rights.
-Every homeschool family deserves the opportunity to make their own choice whether to use the tax credit. No family would be required to do so.
-Thousands of homeschool families across Oklahoma are paying taxes to fund schools their children aren’t attending.
Oklahoma lawmakers should respect homeschool families and give them back some of their own tax dollars for the purpose of education. Please contact your legislators today!
