Send School Choice to Gov. Stitt’s Desk Today!
Time is running out. Oklahoma’s legislative session is set to end May 26th. Please ask your state legislators to send a REAL school choice bill for ALL kids to Gov. Kevin Stitt’s desk for his signature TODAY.
Thousands of Oklahoma parents pay taxes to fund schools that don’t work well for their children or that their children don’t attend.
Both the state House and Senate have passed their own school choice bills—House Bill 1935 and House Bill 1934, respectively—but neither bill has yet been sent to Gov. Stitt.
Either bill, in its latest form, would provide a tax credit of at least $5,000 per student for families that choose to send a child to private school, for tuition and fees, or $1,000 per student for educational expenses for families who homeschool.
On April 21st, to break the stalemate, Gov. Stitt offered publicly a compromise proposal for education. It includes the school choice tax credit for which ALL students would be eligible, along with pay raises for teachers and school support staff and added funding for rural schools.
It’s time to put parents in charge and let ALL Oklahoma students thrive. Please contact your legislators TODAY.
