Renee Alvarado Porter is passionate about education and economic development. She was founding President & CEO of Cristo Rey Oklahoma City Catholic High School, a private college preparatory high school exclusively for economically disadvantaged students. She was CEO and co-founder of Scissortail Community Development Corporation, a 501(c)3 non-profit helping economically disadvantaged Oklahomans. Scissortail’s hallmark programs are ChoiceMatters and Aspiring Americans, which help parents engage in the marketplace of schools and help undocumented students achieve their college dreams, respectively.

Previously, Renee was Chief Operating Officer of the Myriad Botanical Gardens, CEO and President of Advancia Corporation and worked at USA Today, the Williams Companies, the University of Oklahoma, and for US Senator Orrin Hatch.

Renee holds three degrees, all from the University of Oklahoma.
